August12A little bit of a different inspiration this Monday. In honor of my mother’s birthday today, I chose a quote expressing the necessity of moms. Happy birthday Mom! You are so beautiful and inspire me everyday to be the best person I can be, I love you!

What I Wore July Fourth

photo 2-2

In case you haven’t yet gathered this from my blog, I love any reason to celebrate and be festive! The Fourth of July is no exception! You can always catch me in fully red, white and blue ensemble celebrating my country’s independence at a parade or watching fireworks! For this Fourth of July, I really put attention on my fun pleated skirt and tried to keep the rest of my outfit a little more neutral. Of course I complimented the outfit with some red, white and blue accessories! What did you wear this past Independence Day?

Irish Girl

I know it is not a major event, but I can’t keep myself from decorating my apartment and getting excited to wear green. Even though it has been super commercialized in America, it makes me feel more connected with my Irish heritage. I think this green skirt is the perfect way to wear the color this Sunday. Green is not used super often in wardrobes, and using it in a skirt is even more unexpected. Also, what better way to celebrate the holiday than by wearing Pantone’s color of the year, emerald! Neiman Marcus for Target

IMG_3881I was very excited when I saw the promotional video for this line. To be honest, I was not that impressed with the collection in the store. Most of the designers I was most looking forward to seeing (DVF, Marc Jacobs, Tory Burch) did few or no clothing items for women. Also, like most Target designer collaborations, the quality really did not measure up to the price. I did find a few pieces that I liked, which I feel makes a fun nighttime ensemble.

Easter Best

I love holidays, especially decorating and dressing up for them! Some people may find my traditions silly, but I think it’s nice to make things special. This weekend I’ll go home to celebrate Easter. My family and I will probably dye eggs and look for baskets. The day will end with a family dinner with my local aunts and uncles. Dressing for Easter is fun because you get to use the most delicate of spring trends in a formal way. For this Easter I will be wearing the above dress. I love how it has floral in a sort of water color pattern. For Easter I also like to wear super girly nature inspired jewelry.

Surprise in My Shoes

I hope everyone had a fun St. Pat’s! In case you couldn’t tell from my super pale skin and slight red tint to my hair I am Irish! I love to celebrate this holiday and embrace my culture, even if it makes it seem like all my people do is drink green beer!  I actually came home for the weekend because some of my friends/ boyfriend were back in town. Usually my mom makes corn beef and cabbage with soda bread. However, this year she was sick, so I took over the duties. I made Martha Stewart’s potato-leek Soup from her book Great Food Fast. I also made vegan apple mash and vegan soda bread (I am a quasi vegetarian and occasional vegan). For dessert we had grasshopper sundaes.  I also posted pictures of the surprise the leprechauns left in my running shoes this morning and my outfit for today. Of course I had to wear some green and I also incorporated some Irish- inspired jewelry. Shirt: American Apparel, undershirt: Abercrombie & Fitch Sweater: Nordstrom’s BP, skirt from Spain, necklace, earrings, and ring all from my grandma, Shoes: Torry Burch (Similar).
