Lo’s Loves

Hi Readers,

This week has just flown by! It’s been a pretty productive one for me! Especially since I got a job offer! It’s just part time but it will be good to be making some extra money and feeling more productive since fall has been kind of meh for me. Definitely looking forward to Thanksgiving and an exciting December ahead!

A little preview of something coming to the blog next Monday

Here are some things that I have been loving this week:

  1. Taylor Swift’s SNL Performance of “Call It What You Want”: If you have been following this blog for a while, then you know that I am a pretty big Taylor Swift fan. “Call It What You Want” is by far one of my favorite songs from Reputation. I loved the SNL performance of the song.
  2. Tiffany’s Blue Box Cafe: Alright, I know I’ve been giving Tiffany’s a lot of love in these posts lately, but the holidays are the time where they really shine! They recently launched the Blue Box Cafe in New York City. I can’t wait to have breakfast at Tiffany’s the next time I am in NYC!
  3. Kate Spade Miss Adventure: This marketing campaign for Kate Spade is always so clever! I am loving the most recent Miss Adventure with Anna Faris and Rosie Perez.
  4. John Mayer’s New York Times Feature: Okay, I read this about six months too late, but I really enjoyed this piece on John Mayer. I saw him in concert this summer and it’s been interesting to watch as he has tried to move into a new, brighter chapter. Rooting for you John!
  5. Woke Charlotte: Every Outfit on Sex and the City is one of my all-time favorite Instagram accounts. I love the new series that they are doing with “Woke Charlotte” which creates lines Charlotte should have said in the original show to call out problematic language.

Have a great weekend!

Hello friends!

This past week has been a fun one, with many out and about activities in The City. I checked out the Aladdin show at The Orpheum which was fun for the Goldstar ticket price, but not a must-see. I also went to the Asian Art Museum’s exhibit on Korean couture, which proved a little disappointing since the historical garments featured are all modern reproductions. Looking forward to spending some time outside this weekend as the weather clears up.

What fun plans do you have for Veteran’s Day weekend?

Here are a few things I have been loving this week:

  1. The “Queen’s” Last Hurrah: Such a random thing, but United Airlines had a goodbye party for its last 747 flight from SFO to Hawaii and it looked so cute! I have been flying on United since I was a little girl, and this party made me reminiscent of the flights I have taken on the 747 jet. And honestly, how cute is the lei that they put on the airplane?!
  2. Sufjan Stevens’ Song: I am such a fan of this angsty artist and I am loving his new-ish song “Mystery of Love“. It is a little whiny and definitely not for everyone (my brother who is a fan usually of Sufjan promptly professed his dislike for the song when I shared it with him) but personally, I’ll be listening to it all weekend.
  3. Meryl Streep Meets Anna Wintour at Vogue: Vogue’s YouTube channel is easily one of my favorites, and I love this recent video with two powerhouse women! They talk about their work and their belief in a future female POTUS, plus there’s plenty of Devil Wears Prada references!
  4. A Confused Cow: I think cows might be my favorite animal they always seem so playful and sweet (if not already plainly obvious by that sentence, I don’t eat red meat). This video of a cow who thinks he is a dog brought an instant smile to my face.
  5. Bow Shoes from Eugenia Kim X Banana Republic: How perfect are these heels for the holidays? The price is not so perfect, but I’ll be keeping an eye out for them if they go on sale!

Happy Friday!

This week has been a fun and festive one. I always love to celebrate holidays and break up some of the ordinary monotony of things. This year I did a simple DIY costume with stuff I found from around my house. You can check out that blog post here.

Did anyone else enjoy watching the World Series this week? I am a Red Sox fan, but I still had fun catching a few games. On Wednesday night my family and I watched game seven and ate the classic ballpark food—hot dogs (mine was a veggie of course).

Here are some of the things I have been loving this week:

  1. Jack Rogers Thanksgiving Flats: So often I think people just skip from Halloween right into Christmas mode and I always feel bad for poor Thanksgiving! Jack Rogers has made the cutest flats to celebrate the holiday, and I’m glad to see Thanksgiving getting the attention it deserves.
  2. American Girl Halloween Costume: How cute is this group costume of the American Girl Dolls? I had a Samantha doll when I was younger and this photo has me wanting to dress as her next year!
  3. Tiffany Silver Cup Project: Tiffany & Co. has launched a campaign featuring celebrities using the classic silver cup in a variety of different ways. I think my favorite is Ryan Korban’s use of the cup to hold peonies. It’s just such a cute and clever campaign showing how beautiful and versatile the product is. I think the campaign perfectly fits Tiffany’s branding of classic, understated and beautiful.
  4. Ocean Spray Cranberry Bog in Rockefeller Center: Ocean Spray (yes the cranberry people) hosted a dinner party inside a cranberry bog that was set up in Rockefeller Center. This event looks so beautiful and autumnal, and I bet wading through a cranberry bog to dinner was a pretty cool experience! They have hosted this event for a few years and it is definitely a goal of mine to someday score an invite.
  5. The Lion King Live Action Cast: The official cast for the live-action Lion King remake was released this week. Can I just say that I am so excited to see Beyonce as Nala (also excited for Donald Glover as Simba)! Summer 2019 can’t come soon enough!

Have a great weekend!

Happy Friday!

This week has been a pretty mellow one. I spent most of my time working on projects at home and continuing my ever-productive search for a job 🙂 This weekend I will be back in my college town for some Halloween festivities which should be a fun time and a nice change of pace from the little rut I have been in.

Here are some things I have been loving this week:

  1. Engagement Photo Bomb: I saw this on Buzzfeed and thought it was so cute, I just had to share it! How sweet is this hippo who dropped into an engagement photo?
  2. J.Crew Factory Skirt: I am SO in love with this skirt! How perfect would it be for upcoming holiday parties?!
  3. Draper James X Jack Rodgers Flats: I have had a crush on Draper James for quite a while now, although I have yet to actually buy anything from them. I think these flats are so cute and easy to throw on and wear about town, they may just have to be my first Draper James purchase 🙂
  4. My favorite fall Scent: I love this candle from Bath and Bodyworks for the fall. Everyone who would come into my apartment last year when I was burning it would always comment on how good it smelled. It still feels a little too warm to be breaking out the fall scents just yet, but I am looking forward to using this once it cools off a little more!
  5. Neiman Marcus Christmas Book: The Neiman Marcus Christmas Book arrived at our house this week, and while it felt a little early to be thinking about Christmas gifts, I always love to look through the book. They have a list of luxury gift experiences that you can purchase including a 300 person party right in Times Square during New Year’s Eve. It’s so fun to flip through the glossy pages and dream about buying something extravagant like that!

Have a fun and festive Hallo-Weekend!

Lo’s Loves

Hello dear readers! This week I am starting a new series that I hope to publish each Friday summing up some of my favorite things from the week.

UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_253d

This week has been a mixed one, as the Bay Area is still recovering from the North Bay wildfires. My heart hurts so much thinking about the neighboring counties that have been affected by this disaster. My college roommate actually lost her home, and while I am very thankful that she is safe, it makes me so incredibly sad to think about what she’s going through. Of course, there are silver linings to almost every tragedy. Seeing how eager people are to lend a helping hand warmed my heart and it just proves how capable we can be of compassion. So many states came to our aid when we needed hope the most. My grandmother sent my family of four a giant box of respirators to help us breathe during the severe fire smoke (we have had to stay inside most days because of the smoke). Someone in my hometown even hung up a banner across a freeway overpass thanking the firefighters for keeping us safe. All of these actions bring a smile to my face and restores my hope for better days ahead.

Here are a few of the things that I have been loving this week.

  1. Fall doorsteps:  I have seen so many cute festive displays both online and in person this week. It feels like October is finally in full swing and I love seeing different takes on the pumpkin trend.
  2. North Bay Fire Relief: The outpouring of support for this community has been so amazing. If you want to help out you can donate to the Red Cross, and if you’re local you can sign up to volunteer.
  3. This J.Crew Skirt: J.Crew has seriously had so many cute things this fall, and I can’t get over this cute wool ruffle skirt. The gray one is definitely on my wishlist!
  4. The Dallas Arboretum: I have seen quite a few people on Instagram posting photos at the Dallas Arboretum and they seem so perfectly autumnal! I love their Halloween displays and I am seriously wishing I lived closer so I could go!
  5. Halloween Bark: I made this Martha Stewart recipe a few years ago and it was soooo good! I am having some friends over Sunday for some mulled wine and pumpkin carving, and I think I might just have to make the recipe for them.

Have a great weekend!
