One of the trends I have really loved this winter has been velvet. The luxurious fabric just seems to add an unexpected element of elegance to any outfit. One of my favorite variations of this trend has been found in a dress I picked up from Anthropologie on an amazing sale. The dusty rose color is perfect for the romantic tones of late winter. I really like the western style detailing on the bust, it mades it a perfect pairing for booties.
I recently found myself with some free time during an afternoon in San Francisco. So, I did what any sensible style blogger would do—I acted like a tourist in my own city and took some blog pictured in one of my favorite areas of the city, Union Square. This is one of my go-to outfits during spring. I love this dress and how easy it is to dress up with accessories. Since it’s finally spring, I had to add some mint and lavender jewelry pieces! I toted around my favorite kate spade new york carry-all (perfect for days in the city when I need to bring a lot of things). I wore a pair of chic and comfortable snakeskin flats. The outfit comes together in simple, understated elegance— it puts me in a “State of Grace”.
Oxblood was one of my favorite trends this winter. I loved this skirt and have featured it in past blog posts. For a day out in Chicago, I bundled up in layers and wore this skirt with a chambray shirt. I love combining chambray with skirts and more feminine pieces. For me it keeps the menswear trend more girlie and polished. What were some of your favorite winter trends?
With the end of winter approaching, I have been trying to wear my favorite pieces from the season as often as possible. I loved this skirt’s plaid pattern. I also love the pleating it has and the flared bottom. It is definitely a piece that I will miss once spring comes, until then I’ll be wearing it as often as possible!
