Fall Watermelon Hues

fullsizeoutput_2520Dressing for fall is such a struggle for Northern Californians! It stays warm here basically until Thanksgiving, so it can be hard to pull out the cords and the thick sweaters!

I have loved this outfit throughout the warm fall because of the beautiful rich color of the green skirt matched with the dusty pink top. The outfit is also perfect for warm weather with the loose flowy skirt!

Weekly Vlog Week of September 25th

Happy Thursday aka Friday Jr!

Today I am sharing the next video in my vlog series, this is another one from back in September. It is a little bit more of a window into my everyday life, since I don’t go on any trips or get stranded at an airport in this vlog!

I hope you have been enjoying these videos, I’m currently working on one vlog for all of October that I will upload next week.

Elephant Print Skirt

I have had my eye on this J.Crew skirt ever since it popped up on their website in late summer and when it finally went on sale I knew I had to snag it. It has been the perfect piece to wear in these early warm days of fall. It makes such a great statement all on its own, so I frequently pair it with a basic black T-shirt and flats. When the weather finally turns cooler I’m planning on wearing it with some red sweaters to bring out that color in the print.

These photos were actually taken by my lovely cousin Hannah on my recent trip to visit her in Minneapolis. You can see more of that trip by checking out my vlog here. We went to Minnehaha Park to take the pictures and it was such a cool place, I would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to the area!

Gingham Goodbye

fullsizeoutput_2318Gingham has kind of the preppy-yet-trendy runaway hit the summer, and it was a total must-have for me all season long. Since the weather in Northern California is still pretty warm I have been wearing my favorite summer looks one last time as sort of a goodbye gesture.

To me, this look perfectly summed up the summer 2017 trends— gingham, ruffles, off the shoulder tops, and a bright color. I loved pairing the busy pattern of the top with the bright solid skirt. The ruffle wrap in the skirt gave it such a great flare, but it did make me a little nervous when I would wear the skirt on windy days!

What have some of your favorite summer looks been?

Whale of a Good Time

IMG_2756

My brother Thomas recently graduated from college in Upstate New York, and of course this was not an occasion this California girl was going to miss! Tom went to school in Poughkeepsie, and since we had a lot of family traveling for the big event my parents decided to rent a house in nearby Rhinebeck for the occasion. The white shuttered house was so cute and on an amazing property with lush green lawns. It truly had that Northeast charm that I grew familiar with during my childhood summers in Massachusetts. The classic aesthetic inspired me to wear one of my preppiest outfits. I love love love this J.Crew whale sweater that I bought a few seasons ago, but in Northern California it always feels like a bit too much. However, in Upstate NY the preppy look fit right in! I wore it with a fun full yellow skirt for a look that’s perfectly summer.

Ever Pine

Just a quick outfit post so I can at least pretend to still call myself a fashion blogger! I know it has been way too long since I’ve posted! In case you haven’t noticed from my blog, there is pretty much nothing I love more than a dress with a cinched waist. The rich green color of this one is perfect for the winter when bright colors aren’t as acceptable. Simple dresses like this are perfectly understated and sophisticated on their own, but also super easy to dress up. I added some sparkle to my outfit through my jewelry and shoes.

Grey Zone

Grey Dress 1

Yet another dress from my trip to England (Click here and here to see the last ones). I picked up this one at Topshop with my mom. I love how perfectly simple it is. It is incredibly easy to pair it with accessories and tailor it to your specific style. I chose to wear a pair of oxford shoes with this dress to make a classic look for fall! I have gotten a ton of compliments on the two-tone style of them. Tights and a chunky knit sweater are a perfect way to polish off the dress.
